Before using our services, please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By accessing or using our website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use our website. Our website is an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers, and we do not own or control any of the products or services listed on our platform.

Buyers should carefully review all aspects of a listing before making a purchase. We also recommend that Buyers utilize Honour Roll U’s messaging functionality (featured on each product listing page) to contact the Seller directly with any questions that the Buyer might have, prior to completing their purchase. Sellers have 72 hours from the time that an item is sold to have both shipped the item and to have uploaded that item’s Canada Post tracking information in their Dashboard. For the Seller, this upload field is accessible in Your Orders page. If 72 hours pass and no valid tracking information has been uploaded, the transaction will automatically be cancelled and the full purchase price refunded to the Buyer. If this occurs, the Seller will be charged a non-refundable processing fee for this failed transaction of 2.99% + $0.59CAD. It is important for Sellers to be accurate and descriptive when creating listings; this will decrease the likelihood of any subsequent issues, which may merit a return.

Terminology

The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and Disclaimer Notice, and all Agreements: “Client”, “You”, and “Your” refers to you, the person using this website. “The Company”, “Ourselves”, “We”, “Our”, and “Us”, refers to our company. “Party”, “Parties”, or “Us”, refers to both the client and ourselves. All terms refer to the offer, acceptance, and consideration of payment necessary to undertake the process of our assistance to the client in the most appropriate manner for the express purpose of meeting the client’s needs in respect of provision of the company’s stated services, in accordance with and subject to the prevailing law of Canada. Any use of the above terminology or other words in the singular, plural, capitalization and/or he/she or they, are taken as interchangeable and therefore as referring to the same.

Sellers

To become a Seller on our platform, Sellers must create an account and agree to our Terms & Conditions. Sellers must provide accurate and complete information about themselves and their products, including prices, descriptions and images. Sellers are responsible for the quality and safety of their products and must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Important: Once your textbook sells, you (the Seller) will have 72 hours to upload your Canada Post tracking information in Your Dashboard. If no valid Canada Post tracking information is uploaded within this 72 hour timeframe, your sale will automatically be cancelled & refunded. Please note that, if this occurs, you (the Seller) will be charged a non-refundable processing fee for this failed transaction of 2.99% + $0.59CAD. While it is not mandatory, we advise Sellers, prior to shipping your order with Canada Post, to take a few photos of your textbook, in order to catalogue its condition. Additionally, we also recommend that Sellers takes a few photos once the sold textbook is fully packaged up and ready for the mail. In the unlikely event that a Buyer might request a Refund or Return, these photos will be an asset in the resolution process. We recommend that Sellers keep these photos until the resolution process is complete and their payment dispersed.

Buyers

To purchase products on our platform, you (the Buyer) must agree to Honour Roll U Inc.’s Terms and Conditions. You (the Buyer) must provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your payment information. You (the Buyer) are responsible for reviewing product descriptions, prices, and images before making a purchase. You (the Buyer) are encouraged to contact Sellers directly to ask questions or raise concerns about their products.

Important: Please note that you (the Buyer) will be charged a non-refundable fee of 2.99% + $0.59CAD for cancelled or refunded orders. Please note that cancelled orders are those orders which are cancelled by the Buyer prior to the Seller having shipping them within the allotted 72 hour timeframe, from the time of purchase.

Payments & Commission

Payments for products are centralized and are processed with PayPal’s payments infrastructure. Honour Roll U Inc. charges a commission fee of 20% for each sale. We use secure payment methods to protect your financial information.

Shipping

Sellers are solely responsible for shipping products to Buyers. All products sold on Honour Roll U must be shipped via Canada Post. Sellers must obtain a Canada Post tracking number for each order. Sellers are solely responsible for uploading the relevant Canada Post tracking information for each order in Your Dashboard within 72 hours of the sale. If valid tracking information is not uploaded within 72 hours, the transaction will be automatically canceled, and the full purchase price will be refunded to the Buyer. In such cases, the Seller will be charged a non-refundable failed transaction processing fee of 2.99% + $0.59 CAD.

Returns

When buying with Honour Roll U, all sales are considered to be final. Buyers can, however, submit a Return Request in the most extreme instances. Upon Canada Post’s delivery of a given order, a Buyer has 72 hours to submit a Return Request with Honour Roll U. This action must be submitted through Your Orders page, which is located within your Dashboard. Return Requests submitted outside of this 72 hour window (ie from the time of delivery), will not be approved.

The following reasons will not support the approval of a Buyer’s Return Request and please note, the following reasons do not constitute an exhaustive list: no longer needed, found the item cheaper elsewhere, accidental purchase, loss of interest in the item, different edition than intended (unless it was misrepresented in the product listing), and delayed or damaged during shipping (i.e. due to Canada Post). Again, we want to stress that submitting a Return Request is only appropriate in the most extreme instances. Extreme instances may include, but are not limited to the following: significant discrepancies between the product listing and the received item (i.e. the wrong edition, materially different condition, etc.) or demonstrable fraud or misrepresentation by the Seller.

When a Buyer submits a Return Request, Honour Roll U reserves the right to freeze the dispersement of the funds to the Seller until the veracity of the Buyer’s Return Request has been determined by Honour Roll U. While Honour Roll U is committed to providing excellent customer care to both Buyers and Sellers in a timely fashion, the resolution process can take time. In the rarest and most extreme cases, Honour Roll U reserves the right to intervene on the Buyer’s behalf to issue a full refund to the Buyer, less the unrecoverable transaction fees incurred in the order and / or refund process, ie 2.99% + $0.59CAD. In these instances, Honour Roll U cannot guarantee that the item is returned to the Seller. It is solely the responsibility of the Seller to create product listings which accurately and honestly depict the textbooks that they are selling.

Prohibited Items

The sale of illegal, counterfeit, or stolen products, products infringing on intellectual property rights, and products harmful to human health or the environment are prohibited.

Content Liability

Honour Roll U Inc. does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy or quality of any content on our platform, including but not limited to product descriptions, reviews, and comments. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our policies or is deemed inappropriate. We shall not be held responsible for any content that appears on Seller’s website. Buyers and Sellers agree to indemnify and defend us against all claims originating from their websites. No links shall appear on any website that may be interpreted as libelous, obscene, or criminal, or that infringes, otherwise violates, or advocates the infringement or other violation of, any third-party rights.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend Buyer’s &/or Seller’s access to our website at any time, for any reason, without notice. Buyer’s &/or Seller’s may also terminate their account at any time by contacting us.

Limitation Of Liability

Our website is provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of our website, including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
